The markets are nuts, and sooooo much fun and a shoppers heaven ...

As well as jewellery , plus millions of people and motor bikes of course...
FUN but HOT ! :) & a bit quieter when shopping there on a weekday....

Some photos of life in Vietnam ....
While everyone is freezing cold and having their winter in
New Zealand , we are over here in Vietnam in the HEAT!
We are about an hour away from the main tourist spots in
the Tan Binh District at the Phuc Vinh apartment building
where no one really speaks any english in this part of the city
and it is the rainy season too, so the thunderstorms are regular
and the lightening can be spectacular too and scary.... lol :)

50th Birthday in Vietnam
My flowers and cake... Great way to spend a milestone birthday,
very memorable indeed, although paid for it the next day with a huge hangover.. lol
On the 24th of April it was my 50th birthday!
Plus here this week is the 40th Anniversary of the
end of the Vietnam war , so big celebrations will
be happening everywhere over the next week or so.
Would you believe I forgot my good camera of all
things to forget to bring over,,, lol
Had it on the bench ready to grab last minute.. doh!
Thank goodness phones at least can take pictures,
although it helps while using the video option that
you have it up the right way and clarity while moving
is not always good.
Will add as many that come out ok and upload some
of the videos as I get time to... :)
Below is just a couple of pic's taken from the balcony of the 3rd floor
overlooking the channel/river in the Tan Bihn District where we are about
an hour away from the main city District 1 , Ho Chi Mihn City.
Getting used to the heat , slowly.. And it is quite an experience indeed
to say the least!
The next couple were taken a little further in, on the way to the markets.
The last one on the right is the signs everywhere for the 40th Anniversary coming up!
They are adding ribbons to everything and closing down streets too, should be huge.
Hoping to make it up the coast for a few days to see some more scenic sites. :)
Heat is HOT , and what we consider traffic jams at home , are insignificant to here... lol
Thousands of motorbikes, buses & taxis and rush hour takes on a whole new meaning!

Off for an Adventure to Vietnam ....
Flying out on the 15th of April for a trip to Vietnam.
Exciting and a little scary all at the same time...
I shall be having my big "50" birthday there on the 24th!
Way out of my comfort zone, lol so hope the flight has
some good or funny movies going on , in the meantime..
